Bundesverband Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung e.V. (B.KWK) is a German association promoting the efficient use of energy by simultaneously generating electricity and heat (Combined Heat and Power or CHP). OPRA is a proud member of the B.KWK due to our numerous CHP references running in Germany and our close proximity to the German border. In line with our Vision to drive the world’s energy transition, we strongly believe that CHP projects will play a role in a cleaner, more efficient and flexible energy infrastructure!
On February 20th OPRA hosted the bi-annual congress for Industrial CHP during which B.KWK members and industry experts got together in Hengelo to discuss the current status of CHP in industrial applications in Germany. After discussing various cases, the experts agreed that gas based CHP is highly sustainable and prepares industrial customers for the future. While being able to efficiently run on natural gas today, CHP installations will be able to cope with green, decarbonized gas (Power to X) tomorrow making CHP installations a safe and future proof investment.
The group also took a tour through OPRA’s new workshop and had the unique opportunity to have a detailed look at OPRA packages.
